Welcome Summer Tablescapes

June temperatures have been warm but not hot, and a perfect time to enjoy a meal on the veranda. When Rita at Panoply asked me to be a part of her Summer Tablescapes blog hop, I thought it was a good time to pull out a few things I still have and put together a table for six outside. So come along, as I set a table for a Summer Garden Party.

My color scheme is based on the pattern in the salad plates, light pink with spring green and yellow.

Spring green chargers are set on white nylon placemats, topped with a white dinner plate and the pretty salad plates. These salad plates are deep, and could be used as soup bowls. Everyday flatware, crystal wine glasses, and individual salt and pepper shakers are added.

Spring green napkins in yellow flower pot napkin rings complete the settings.

For the garden party theme centerpiece, I got out my little gardening rabbits. This one is wearing overalls has a watering can along with a cute hat.

This one is wearing a soft pink sweater and a frilly hat, with a bouquet of flowers.

In the middle, my white ceramic basket holds another pot with white begonias.

The table is ready for a nice ladies lunch. Now all I have to do is plan one, LOL!

What to serve? Well, my Chilled Crab and Corn Soup makes a perfect starter for a summer luncheon. Download the recipe on that post.

Follow that with a slice of quiche, perhaps shrimp and spinach with mushrooms? Or your favorite ingredients, using my Anything Quiche recipe. Go crustless as the recipe gives you, or use a prepared one from the dairy case.

Or try my Asian Inspired Salad with imitation crab and fried onions.

Dessert should be easy, and these Springtime Cookies using M&Ms can be made using any color of candy. The pastels were nice for spring, but the brighter colors work well for summer.

Of course, if you want to go fancier, my Vanilla Blueberry Tea Cakes are a special, make-ahead treat using a purchased pound cake and blueberry jam.

And now, since we cannot seem to get enough of pretty tables and summer party ideas, let’s go to the blog hop! Our hostess is Rita at Panoply, the first stop on the hop. Get ready for an amazing display of tables for summer fun entertaining a crowd or just for the two of you.

Your tables look good as does the menu. See you in time for lunch!! :))
Haven’t looked at the other tables yet – because it’s time for bed. But I couldn’t resist looking at your post. Happy Tablescaping! 🙂
There’s also Possums playing on the roof here, hope they go away soon. 🙂

What a beautiful tablescape ….I love the pastel pink, yellow and green. I checked out ALL the other links and saw a few tablescapes that appealed to me…but none as nice as yours! Close, but not quite…. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful summer. Thanks for all the recipes and inspiration you share so graciously! Blessings from WV!

  3. I might have to try making your teacakes sometime. They’re so pretty. It’s all pretty, Carole — now, THAT is a porch, the kind we all dream of. Having that beautiful tablesetting just adds to it all. (But does anyone want to sit with their back to the view?)

  4. Carole I love your large porch and what a lovely place to have a luncheon. Your views are awesome too. I am using your tea cake recipe this week and using your suggestion of 3 slices instead of two. I don’t want them to topple over or I would have to eat the “extras” 😊
The pink and green colors are great for summer, capturing all the beautiful flowers that pop up in the Summertime. The yellow pot napkin rings are adorable. The bunnies are a nice touch. Happy Summer and stay cool. Blessings

  5. Carole, your veranda is a lovely setting for a summer garden party. The salad plates are great inspiration for their colors of light pink, spring green, and yellow. The gardening rabbits are adorable. The soup and quiche sound fabulous. It is a pleasure to hop with you! Happy Summer!

  6. Carole, what a delicious looking meal! I love your porch setting looking out to the beautiful landscape. I think the pinks and greens of your salad plate are lovely, and the garden rabbits make me smile. I have a few in my garden too. Thanks for sharing! Happy Summer!

  7. Carole, what a lovely tablescape! Your meal looks delicious and you have the most glorious view! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction

  8. The colors are perfection in your porch setting Carole, the green and yellow echo the colors of the sunlight coming through your trees! I love the pink flower salad plates, so pretty! The gardening bunnies stole the show for me, they are just adorable! How neat that your salad plates are deep enough to use for your chilled soup. Quiche is one of my favorite meals~perfect for a ladies luncheon. I hope you enjoy many meals this summer in this wonderful spot!

Oh, I want to be there! That setting is simply fabulous, and with the super nice spring to early summer weather we’ve had, I can almost feel the summer breeze! I love the mix of yellow and green, and those salad plates are a perfect picture of how things are blooming right now. Thanks for sharing all those tempting food suggestions also. They ALL sound great and look so good!

Your veranda is so pretty and HUGE! You could feed a small army out there. What a pretty setting to host a party. I do like the pretty colors you chose for your tablescape. Your plate stack is fantastic, and i love the green on your table. My favorite things are the cute flowerpot napkin rings that bring out the yellow in the deep salad plates. I also appreciate your luncheon dish recommendations. I want to try the quiche, especially since it’s crustless. Happy summer!

I am so inspired! Lovely!!!! I admittedly am not that fancy, usually a placemat over the tablecloth, but these lift the spirit! I’ll need to g back and really give them the attentions they deserve! Thanks

  13. Such a lovely table…so inviting and so many beauties on it. I am adding the corn chowder to my recipes….love chilled soup in the summer. Today is 55 and rainy and I could go for a hot soup!

Hi Carole. I tried commenting before but I’m not sure if you received it so I’ll comment again. Your table is so pretty and I love the gardening theme! The color of the plate stack with the green, white, and pink is perfect for summer and the gardening rabbits are adorable! The menu sounds delicious and oh my, what a gorgeous view out into your yard. I hope you enjoy a wonderful ladies lunch and have a very happy summer!

  18. Carole, I absolutely love your long veranda and setting for your lovely summer tablescape. I’m especially partial to the visiting garden bunnies and flower pot napkin rings. My son’s destination wedding in Highlands is not too far from you I think? It’s at Old Edwards. Our welcome party the night before will be at Flat Mountain Farm. Everyone is awed by the cute town and mountains.

Carole, your outdoor table set for lunch is so inviting—such a tranquil spot and so lush and green. I love your chosen dishes and those cute garden bunnies and flower pot napkin rings.
The beautiful food has made me hungry for such a lovely luncheon fair. But the fellowship with you and other bloggers would be so special. What a happy thought.
Thanks for a great visit and inspiration. I need to have some friends over!

  20. Carole, your veranda makes a lovely setting for a summer dining experience!! Your table looks wonderful and inviting. All the green on the table and in your lush surroundings makes your table look so peaceful and tranquil. I hope you have a nice summer!☀️

  21. As I stare out my window at raindrops, I’m envious of your covered veranda where you can hold summer lunches regardless of the weather! And the view from it is lovely! The table you’ve set is pretty in bright spring greens and just the right shades of yellow. I can imagine using this tablescape throughout the summer months!

  22. Carole your porch is such an inviting spot!! Definitely a wonderfully warm welcome! Your table is so charming!! I love the combination of green and white with touches of pink – so soothing and a perfect foil to the hot summer days. My favorite accent though is your flower pot napkin rings! They are absolutely darling!! Thank you for allowing me to pull up a chair at your table. Happy Summer! ❤️ Jennifer @ Celebrating Everyday Life ❤️

  23. Carole, Your sweet garden bunnies really made me smile. And those adorable planter pot napkin rings really tells me it is gardening time. I love the soft colors you choose for your table, especially the lovely green which is found so much in nature. It is so soothing and calming. And those delightful dishes. I love quiche! And that wonderful salad not to mention the tea cakes and cookies. I am ready for the ladies luncheon! Have a very special one and enjoy all of your summer ahead.

  24. Carole, your colour scheme is perfect for summer. That shade of green is a personal favourite. I giggled when I saw the little bunnies, as I have my own garden bunnies who are not quite as cute and harmless as yours! I could spend hours at this table on your covered porch!
