Autumn Jubilee Rules and Notices

Autumn Jubilee is an annual online event on this blog in October. Rules are simple, and easy.  In past years, there have been many disqualifications for entries not meeting the requirements of the entry.  There are also some restrictions on shipping.  So, here is what you need to know about the event and how to enter the drawings.

Most drawings will be open for five days, and towards the end of the month will be as short as two days.  All drawing entries will end during the month of October 2023, and final drawing will be November 2nd.  I reserve the right to end any drawing early for any reason.

For 2023, we will return to a simplified entry method, with all winners drawn from comments.  There is no other way to enter, no purchase is necessary. Readers must visit the sponsor and the comment must answer the question of the post. Comments which only say thank you or do not answer the question will be disqualified. Winners will be chosen by random number generator, and will be counted from the first comment in order of posting. Comments held for moderation will appear in their proper order. Replying to a comment will not affect the order, as it will go by date and time. Please use the comment form, and do not reply to another commenter, unless you are responding to their comment.

Post the button below on your sidebar to let your readers know about Autumn Jubilee!!  Link to this page for now, and to the beginning launch post on October 1, 2023.

Blog Post comments  – Comments must address the question of the post, which will require a visit to the sponsor. Comments that only say ‘thanks for the drawing’, ‘I like this project/fabric’ or similar will be disqualified.  Twitter, Facebook and Instagram logins cannot be used to respond and cannot be used for commenting.  Due to the large number of comments during Autumn Jubilee, I cannot respond personally to your comments.

Be sure to check your browser’s auto-fill!! Many have mistakes in the email addresses and will result in your entry begin disqualified if I cannot reach you.

Those commenting for the first time will have their comments held for moderation. After you have one approval, subsequent comments should post immediately. This is to limit spammers trying to post links or sell things.

Important – The blog does not allow anonymous comments and will ask you to sign into either your email or your wordpress account. You are not logging into my blog, you are verifying your identity. If you are using an email that the Gravatar app recognizes, it will ask you to enter your email password in order to use that email to comment. This is to protect you from unauthorized persons commenting with your account. To get around this, open a new tab in your browser and log into your email. Then reload the blog page. This should allow you to comment. If it does not, and you have a WordPress blog, there is a known problem with some of the plugins blocking commenting. You’ll need to change your password, then contact WordPress to identify the plugin on your blog causing the block. Or, use a different email that is not associated with your blog. If you once had a WordPress account associated with your email address that you no longer use, go to Gravatar and delete it – https://en.gravatar.com/support/deleting-accounts/ , this may get rid of the login issue. See my post Solving Commenting Issues for more information on the Jetpack plugin on all WordPress blogs.

Blog Post Entries – Some drawings will have a blog post entry, to enter you need to enter the URL of your blog post in the Website URL box on a comment up to seven days after the post. You may use the same blog post URL as an entry on three drawings, up to seven days past your post.

Facebook Sharing Entries – Sharing on Facebook should be done by using the Share button on my blog page, or from the group page.  Follow From My Carolina Home on Facebook so you can easily share, or just go to that page and share.  There are also prizes for members of our Friends of From My Carolina Home Facebook group, ask to join and please answer the questions for quick approval.  Those not answering the questions (there are only four – agree to the rules and don’t play with elements for mystery quilt alongs) within 2 days will be declined.

International Entries – Some vendors cannot ship outside of the US, however, international entries will be accepted on all drawings.   If an international entry is drawn on a US only prize, that entry will receive 2 pdf patterns of that person’s choice, and a new winner drawn for that post’s prize.
Will Ship Internationally – Fat Quarter Shop, Backside Fabrics, and C&T Publishing.
Can Only Ship in US – Madam Sew, Quilter’s Dream, Impression Obsession, One of the Flock, Milk Street, Sulky Threads and the prize boxes from From My Carolina Home which include Benartex Fabrics, Hobbs Batting and Aurifil Threads.

All winners will be notified via email.  If the email is invalid, that entry will be disqualified and another winner chosen.  Only one prize per person during Autumn Jubilee in any one year.  Winners must claim their prize within 48 hours, or they will be disqualified and another winner chosen.

These rules are subject to revision as necessary without notice.

Some of the links provided for vendors and giveaways will be affiliate links.  Using these links and making a purchase may earn a small commission for covering the costs of my blog, Autumn Jubilee and other events.  The price you pay for the goods is not affected by this, and you can use your existing accounts with the vendors.  For further information on privacy policies, affiliate disclosures, and other legal notices, see my Legal Stuff page.

Above all, have fun!!
