Charming moments will be seen this week as it comes closer to a day set aside for appreciating the love we have in our lives. I just adore the cardinals courting. The male will pick out the choicest tidbits and feed them to the female. This is just so sweet.

I want to get a hyacinth this week. I absolutely adore the delicate flowers and wonderful sweet scent. This idea seems fresh and new for this week, something different yet appropriate. Maybe a purple one would be nice this time.

Set a Valentine table with a Paris theme instead of hearts. This Paris inspired tablescape is still one of my favorites. It is primarily gold with several candles in the centerpiece to set a romantic mood for a lovely dinner.

I did this one with my French shops plates and Eiffel tower placed with the centerpiece of red flowers and red candles. It is a table just for two.

Or just shop your home for red and white if you like the traditional colors. Truly, it is the thought that counts. The pattern for my Hearts Around table topper in the center can be found on that post.

The photo above shows a fun rose napkin fold. The tutorial is on my post Valentine Fun.

We don’t usually go out for dinner on Valentine’s day as the restaurants are always overcrowded. With the day falling on a Saturday this year, it will be even more so. This year, I might make my White Wine Chicken and Mushrooms for Two. It is easy, and cooks on top of the stove. Served with rice and broccoli, it is easy to prepare.

Make a Valentine Breakfast of Popovers with Black Cherry Creme, recipes on that post. I know I show you this every year, but it seems to be the perfect thing for February time and again. You can make the Creme in any flavor you like. Strawberry or plum would be nice, too.

Or try my Orange Cinnamon Waffles. Oh, these are so good! Recipe on that post.

Cream scones with your favorite flavor of jam are easy to make and special. see my post Scones, Muffins and Huckleberries for the recipe.

There is time to stamp a card for family members and special friends. Maybe something that conveys a sense of appreciation without the traditional hearts, like this one. This was stamped on a white bag and then filled with goodies for a retreat some years ago.

Friday is Galentine’s Day, and there’s time now to make a fun card like these. The quilting theme is good for my guild buddies.

These would be fun for my non-sewing friends.

Last year, I gave a couple of friends a Sulky One Block at a Time Mug with a Happy Galentine’s Day mug rug. I used my Embrilliance free program for the lettering, and added a sewing machine. See all the Mugs on Sulky for great gift ideas, along with stabilizers and threads for embroidery. Now, every time I use that mug (the green one I kept for me!) I think of those special ladies. There is time left for planning a fun lunch with your best gal pals! Happy Galentine’s Day to all my “dearest gentle readers”!!

What are your plans for this weekend and Valentine’s or Galentine’s day?
Every idea, every table setting here is just delightful. I love the Paris theme, but the red and white is so much fun, too. And I’ve saved that chicken and turnover recipe. Rick always makes me dinner on Valentine’s Day. (We don’t like to go out for the same reasons you do). But I think this year I’ll either do a pre-or-post Valentine dinner so I can set a fun table too!
