Autumn Jubilee Stamping Fun

Stamping is such fun, and a nice creative break from sewing. I like both endeavors, and mixing it up keeps my creativity flowing. Fall is the best time for stamping, making cards and Halloween treats, working with gorgeous papers and fun images.

I like using ribbons on paper for an extra bit of texture. I’ll start with gluing it to the backside, then fold it over the front. I only do about an inch on each end on the backside of the paper strip. Turned to the front, the ribbon and paper piece is glued to the cardstock on the front, with the raw ends of the ribbon between the layers. This cardstock is lovely, with a pattern and sparkly gold accents.

I added a printed bit of paper in fall colors, and a framed sentiment “Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower.” – Albert Camus.

Inside, a fun sentiment is stamped with an orange pumpkin and a leaf sticker.

The envelope is decorated as well, with a line of pumpkins and a sweet sentiment from Impression Obsession, both in orange.

A second card starts in a similar way, but the jute string bow is tied cross-ways on the paper bar. This is placed over a polka dot paper.

I added leaves and a framed sentiment, “I’m so glad I live in a world with Octobers.” – L.M. Montgomery.

I couldn’t resist making some Halloween treat bags for some friends. These white craft bags are a lunch bag size, and perfect for decorating. Find the bags at big box craft stores, or sometimes your local grocery store will have them.

This set is discontinued, but still cute. Find adorable Halloween clear stamps at Impression Obsession with this affiliate link – Halloween Stamps.

I added another little jack-o-lantern on the bottom right.

Filled with little mini loaves of Pumpkin Orange Bread, they make perfect treat bags for friends. When I was baking this time, I tried substituting dried orange peel for the fresh zest, as I didn’t have an orange. Two tablespoons in the batter did pretty well. The orange flavor wasn’t as bright, but it was an acceptable substitute when you need to bake and can’t get to the store.

Mini-muffins and little mini-loaves cook faster than the full size loaves. For those who want to make this size, the mini-muffins took about 18 minutes, and the loaves were closer to 22-24 minutes. Packed and delivered, I hope my friends enjoy the treats.

As Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year, it is prime time to get a start on my Thanksgiving cards. Here are a few designs from years past to inspire your stamping creativity. Sometimes I will take the inside sentiment of a card sent to me, and repurpose it into the front of a new cards. The little cornucopia on the right is a layered element.

Using pretty fall papers add texture and interest to simple designs. Impression Obsession has some gorgeous paper packs for the fall season.

Layering elements gives complexity to the card front, and looks like you spent a lot of time on it, but it really doesn’t take long.

These things are like potato chips, you just cannot stop once you get started, LOL!

Don’t forget to add a turkey to the envelopes!

Love the autumn crows. Just too cute. Wonderful idea for packaging yummy pumpkin bread in brown bags. I have decorated beon bags and used them for party favors many times. Most recently a puppy shower. Your baked goods look so good I can almost smell them.

  3. Your gift bags are so cute—darling Halloween stamps! I liked the Red Rubber August 23 Limited Edition Halloween stamp set with the ghost and pumpkin and spider. I have my eye on some leaf and acorns dies, too. Love the acorns! I’ve been making Halloween and TG cards, too. And yes, they are addicting—can’t make just one!

all of your Halloween and Fall stamps are so pretty and cute. I have used the orange peel and lemon peel that comes in the jar, not as tasty as fresh but in a pinch a suitable substitute and I have used it more than once.

  5. You always do such a nice job on your cards. They would be a delight to find in anyone’s mailbox. The Fall Sayings would be ideal to get started with stamping.

Your cards and gift bags are so fun! Stamping and card making is not a craft I’ve gotten into, but I do love your pumpkin bread recipe. I made a batch of it last weekend, I think. It didn’t last long!

It seems I’m not alone in liking the Autumn Sayings! Fall is Calling would go along nicely with the sayings, too. There are also many papers that woudl be fun to use. There was a time when I made cards and then gave it up. Now, there are so many wonderful items and tools on the market to make beautiful cards at a fraction of the cost of store-bought cards.

I love looking at your cards, you make it look so easy. At a craft show, I would buy your cards whereas I often think ‘I could make that’. I’ve made cards & they certainly don’t look professional like yours do. Maybe finding better supplies like the ones at Impression Obsession would help!

Your cards are really beautiful. I love the leaves with the gold veining. I would like to have the clear stamp set called Fall Sayings. I was trying to figure out how you colored that pretty little leaf on one of the cards, and then I read where you said it was a sticker. LOL!

I like the Fall Sayings impression obsessions set. Seems like I always need more sentiments.

Thanks for the inspiration. I can use it, it’s 95 degrees here, not exactly fall yet

  17. Your stamping work is lovely. I haven’t made collaged cards in such awhile and it used to be the only thing I did! I might even have a few doodads to send you for yours. I’ll have to look! Thanks for the bread recipe. I make pumpkin bread every year in mini-loaves and I think your recipe might make a nice change of pace. I love your little bags!

You have such lucky friends, Carole! I have never thought of adding ribbon to my hand made cards and now I will have extra fun making some! Thank you also for the great idea of treat bags filled with yummy homemade treats for friends and neighbors. One item at IOStamps that caught my eye was CL1247 Fall Gratitude…these would be fun to color in with pencils on my cards and bags!
