Progress was made on the miniature quilt this past week. The paper piecing is going well. I had a few comments about working with tiny bits, and I do hear you! I usually use larger pieces than are needed, then cut off the excess as I go. It does result in a bit more waste, but it is worth that to save my sanity, LOL!! So, at the last post, I had seven tiny blocks done, the last four were chain pieced.
I had nine to go, and decided to do them in the same manner as it really did save some time.
Being able to press nine blocks at once saved me eight trips to the ironing board.
When the blocks were done, I could do all the trimming at once, too.
In a day, I had the remaining nine blocks done for a total of 16.
I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out, points are not bad.
Now for the decision on the cornerstone blocks. They are even smaller!
Might as well give it a try. I colored the blocks to keep the colors straight as I went along.
Again, chain piecing, pulling the block out and just starting in on the next one. This left thread tails on both sides of all the blocks, but made it easier to cut them off. I just lifted one, and trimmed both ends at once.
On the back side, the fabric pieces are larger than required, just to make it easier to hold in place.
When the little blocks were done piecing, I had a tiny fan just over an inch wide.
The first blocks are 2 inches wide, and the little ones are 1-1/2-inches wide with the black background added in. Next will be the nerve wracking and tedious job of sewing them together, keeping the lines straight and not cutting the points off the fans. So, good progress and maybe I can get it done this month.

Your miniature is going to be so cute! You have so much patience but then again you do quilt repairs!!! Ha! I had not heard of either blogger who you referenced above but we quilters are always generous, especially with other quilters! Bless your heart and the other blogger for offering to donate sales from your patterns! I have sent an order to you for some patterns. I hope you both raise lots of money!!!
Your tiny FPP blocks are so precious. Especially the teeny-tiny ones. I think I’d need magnifying glasses to accomplish that! Looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
