Autumn Jubilee wouldn’t be complete without a pretty table and some yummy ideas for an Autumn Brunch. The idea of an Autumn Brunch reminds me so much of my mother. She and I loved to read cooking magazines and cook together, and never more so than when pumpkins were in season and a chill was in the air. We once hosted an Autumn brunch for our extended family of 15 guests with an all day affair starting with a tea breads course and working our way through more hearty dishes ending with a pumpkin roll cake, all while chatting and watching football on TV. It lasted hours, and we loved every minute of it.
With those memories filling my thoughts and warming my heart, I set out a large ceramic pumpkin on the placemats I made a few years ago. I added the color corn and crackle glass votives to both sides.
For the place settings, I set out the brown chargers, and added brown napkins held with my pumpkin napkin rings.
The place settings were completed with white stoneware topped with my autumn leaf small plates, and everyday flatware. The pumpkin bowls are set out for cereal, and glasses added for water or juice.
A simple setting, festive and fall-like.

See this post for making Perfect Breakfast Eggs.
Breakfast for Thanksgiving day (and many years Christmas Day as well) is usually a baked egg dish with sausage or bacon and lots of cheese. I haven’t done a post on it yet, even though I have made it year after year. This year I’ll try to remember to get photos and give you my recipe. It is flavorful, cheesy deliciousness with hot coffee and scones or biscuits. I am reworking my scone recipe and should have that for you soon as well.
Do you have a favorite autumn recipe?

Carole this Orange-Pumpkin-Bread looks delicious! I love Pumpkin in any thing! Gonna try it as soon as I get home from vacation. Never thought of putting orange zest in my pumpkin bread!
Happy Fall🍂🍁
Looking forward to trying your Caramel Apple Coffee cake recipe. How would it do as muffins? All look yummy!
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Carole,
I have to agree with Carol above – the Orange-Pumpkin bread looks delicious. I’ve never had that combination before but I would love to give it a try. Thanks for sharing your recipe. I love hearing about those memories with your mom. ~smile~ Roseanne
I had to read the egg recipe as I can never get them quite right either – I like you don’t like too runny but not hard – often times they are too runny and a little of the white is running to and dump them as i will not eat a runny white! I need to check out the apple doughnut as well – my favorite fall recipe is home made chunky applesauce but like all things pumpkin as well
Me too! Have you tried my small batch Cinnamon Applesauce? https://frommycarolinahome.wordpress.com/2015/11/12/honey-crisp-applesauce-with-cinnamon/
no I haven’t tried your recipe – just looked at it though just now- I have been making applesauce for years and just blogged about it last week I believe – canned 11 pints of it – I like mine a bit chunky like you have yours – and love it and make it frequently
I love my pumpkin waffles, and since we can our pumpkin, I get to have them whenever I want! I also have a low sugar pumpkin muffin recipe. Everything you posted looks so yummy, pumpkin and apple treats are perfect during the fall and holidays!
Thank you for all of the inspiration and recipes Carole. I love anything pumpkin as long as it is not too spicy.
I love the pumpkin orange bread, that looks very easy, which seems to be the way I operate these days.
Yesterday Lizzie and I went to her church baby shower in Clifton Virginia (Fairfax Co) just a short drive. The house was incredible, perhaps 40 years old, amazing in the woods, HUGE house with very large rooms. I tried not to gawk too much. This couple was long retired. The woman was incredibly talented with all of her beautiful pieces and best china and silver, and wonderful dishes she made. Still, I could not get over that house and the size of the main level, that house must be worth 4 million.
It was a really fun day and all of Lizzie’s church peeps are lovely. Her church is Dutch reformed and I think 75% of the families are from Michigan.
Enjoy the drabby day. I guess I will go to see daddy today and see what he has been up to.
Oh dear!!!! I have all the ingredients for Caramel Apple Cake! Should I bake or just apply directly to my hips!!!!!!! THANKS!!!
Omg! This all sounds so delicious! I’ll have to make some donuts for hubby and me!!
I’ve been wanting to make pumpkin bread and will be giving your recipe a try ,probably this week 🙂 Love your fall table ♥
Hello Carole; Right now I can not think of just one favorite, we love quite a few fresh pumpkin recipes and a family zucchini bread. My mind is not working, we went and spent the day with my Dad yesterday. I of course love every piece of your table setting. They always make me so happy. Your leaf plates, are they new? I do not remember having seen them before, they are so perfect and such beautiful fall colors. Thank you for sharing the wonderful memory of your Mother and your spectacular football brunch. It had to have been so much fun. Thank you for sharing and have a great day!
