Oh, finally, some days warm enough to run around in my roadster with the top down! Now that I am feeling better, it is lovely to have the trees leafing out and my azaleas blooming. I adore white flowers, and these are pristine this year. They had not formed buds when we had our last hard freeze, so the blooms are stunning.

This is just the first plant to bloom, we have several white ones. The sun was just coming up, and I need to take some better photos later in the day when the sun will be shining on the blooms from the front.

The pink one has come into bloom as well. Yes, the color is just this vibrant. The pastel pink is loaded with buds, so more will come out this week.

The dogwoods are blooming well right now. I have a couple of white ones that survived the hurricane.

The front yard and meadow is full of ajuga right now, even after the field was mowed.

Inside, I have the last Quilt of Valor on the frame for the June 6 presentation. This top was sent to me by Mary Ellen, and it is quilting nicely. The pattern is called “Long May She Wave” and was designed by Alycia of AlyciaQuilts available in her Etsy Shop – Long May She Wave Pattern.

I’m putting a swirl pantograph on it. It looks to me like a little breeze flowing around the stars.

I’m looking forward to this weekend. The car club is having a fun drive ending at the Tryon Equestrian Center for a Sunday Brunch. It will be nice to get out on the road again with friends, and enjoy the spring scenery.
