Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along Starts Today

Here we go!! Today I’ll give you the cutting instructions for the table topper quilt along. This year, I have been a bit short on time, so I didn’t do a full size quilt. However, the idea could be expanded if you choose to, and I’ll show you some ideas for doing that. If you missed Wednesday’s post on the start of the event, click on Autumn Jubilee Begins!

The quilt will finish at 40 inches square, large enough to use as whole table cloth for a small pub table or a center accent over a tablecoth for a larger table. It is a good size for a fall lullaby quilt, too. The center is a 12-inch finished block with round robin style borders. This isn’t a mystery this time, so here is the mockup I did in EQ8. I like this colorway with the deep burgundy borders.

The center is a 12-inch block, and feel free to change that for any 12-inch block that you like. I mocked up one with the 12 inch pumpkin from Autumn Jubilee a couple of years back.

I know we all have different colors we like, and different things in our stashes, so take a look at a few other ideas for colors to choose. Here’s one with light inner and outer borders, and gold patches.

Here’s one with a dark green for borders and gold patches.

And one last colorway, with gold for borders and brown patches.

So, choose your border colors, dig out your scraps, and let’s quilt! The cutting instructions are written for the center nine patch star. Download the pdf – Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along Cutting Instructions.

If you would like to do a larger project, make more leaves and add rows to the top and bottom for a throw size quilt. You can also add more sashing and another border of scraps to enlarge the quilt.

Share your fabric pulls in our Facebook group, Friends of From My Carolina Home. Remember, there is a prize for someone sharing there during Autumn Jubilee.

Today’s sponsor is Art Gallery Fabrics! These are high quality fabrics that I enjoy working with. Art Gallery Fabrics will send a Grid bundle by Katarina Roccella to a lucky winner! Prize value $60!! Visit the Art Gallery fabrics website and leave a comment below, which collection do you like?

Then click on the Rafflecopter button below to enter the drawing.

I have some of their Decostitch line and am really impressed with the quality, luxurious feel and shimmery finish. It is just fabulous. Find Art Gallery Decostitch at Fat Quarter Shop.

My favorite collection is Bookish. These fabrics remind me of my 3 granddaughters who all wear glasses and are avid readers.

I really like the herons in the Eve collection from Art Gallery. I can visualize them as fussy cut features in a project. Thanks for introducing this site!

  2. KIM LEMERE

Great options for colors and our center block. I really like the Sapphire shine bundle, luscious fabrics.

  3. Rheanna

The glacier edition bundle with blues and teals caught my eye. I have been really drawn to that color way lately.
Love the table topper. Thank you for showing the different versions. It’s amazing how swapping around some colors really changes the look of the quilt.

My favorite collection was Campsite. The fireflies in the jars were eye catching and were the reason it won over the Nursery collection. I enjoyed seeing the different mock-ups for the table topper centers. Thanks for sharing these ideas.

Lots of pretty fabric. I have two faves – the Hyperreal Garden Fabric Collection and Merry and Bright!

  19. Joy B

I love this quilt design, and while I won’t get it made this year, hopefully I will retire in another year or so and have more time for sewing and quilting! So I’m going to save the instructions for a future project. I like all the fabrics I saw on the Art Gallery website but a couple in the Bookish line really caught my eye – the glasses and the sunflowers. Happy October!

  20. Joan Sheppard

Thanks for the mock ups always helpful for color and design. Getting a new fence today so perfect timing – I have to be home but can’t go out in the yard. Thanks again, j

Carole, the Table Topper is wonderful, my mind has all kinds of color schemes for the family. Art Gallery fabrics look so good, I am drawn to the Decostitch group as I love the small icons when using for backgrounds.

  27. Julie

I love Art Gallery Fabrics. I was so lucky a traveling vendor had some at our last big quilt guild show & I was able to pick out in person. I never met a collection of theirs that I don’t like, but this year Kismet really speaks to me.

I recently admitted that there’s not enough time to make every quilt I want to make. Your table topper is the perfect solution. I enjoyed all the suggested colors & alternative center ideas. Now to see what will work with what I have on hand. Last week for dinner I took my table topper off (doesn’t work so well with a toddler) to set the table. My 2 yr old grandson ran over & clutched it to his chest saying “blankie.” 40″ is the perfect size for a little one.

  28. Bobbie Woodruff

I finely got to something that had Joy to the World fabric and a pattern for free to download. It is beautiful. I think I’ll get this I sure hope I can get it done on time for this Christmas. I’m a older lady and really have trouble on my iPad to understand how to go from site to site. I had commented early as I found some bundles of fabric in different colors the yellow was so bright and colorful.

  29. Joan Sheppard

    p. s. Just spent an hour at the Art Gallery website and Instagram page, fell in love with everything. Picked up a couple of patterns (free) that I can’t wait to try and animal fabric perfect for our quilts for dog charities. Thanks!!!!

  32. socarmela

Thanks for the different mock ups I think I’m going to do the option with the pumpkin in the middle.

  33. Juana Ibanez

I am a huge AG fan. Andina is the collection I am currently lusting over. How often do we see the Nazca lines featured in fabric? Thank you for that table topper pattern!

  34. Lisa England

Art Gallery has so many gorgeous fabrics and I always love the way they feel. One collection I really like is Pollinate.

  35. So glad it is a small project this year! Love the 9-patch star center in the middle. For the fabrics, I liked Bookish. They all look really lovely! Will start choosing tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Thanks!

  36. This is my first time visiting this site. I see good photos, interesting reading material, and a chance to win something special. What more could a person ask for?

Thank you for all the different mock ups! So helpful for me! I love art gallery fabrics – especially Bonnie Christine

  38. Debbie Miller Meyer

I was looking at all the fat/quarter bundles and ai found it hard to choose just one. I loved Waterfall the best, followed by Glacier, Night Fog and Cranberry. They appear to have lovely fabric!

  39. Debbie Miller

Love the table topper and all the given options! Just remembered that I forgot to post my comment here. My Art Gallery favorite fabric line is Lugu by Jessica Swift.

  40. Niki Barber

The table topper pattern is great. I can’t play along right now, but will save the pattern for next year.

I like the Nature’s Element collection. I can see these fabrics blending with so many others.

  41. Teri

I love the Color Master elements at the Art Gallerty fabrics. It’s always so useful to have blenders. I tend to put blenders Or batiks in every quilt.

  42. Amy Loar

I am in love with the Bookish collection by Sharon Holland. Pretty much anything she and her cohort Maureen Cracknell design, I fall in love with.

  43. I was going to say that I really like the Floralism collection till I saw someone else’s comment on the Bookish collection. Being a bookaholic, I looked for that one and, yes, I fell in love.

  44. Alexandria Hull

Love your tabletopper and would like to make the green colourway for my son’s home.
Another project I would like to make with the AGF Kismet Destiny fabrics.
    Thanks, Alexandria

  48. Cheri Hanson

There are so many amazing collections! Bookish has been catching my eye lately, but Aquarelle has had my heart ever since it released.

  49. Carole I love the little quilt you’ve designed for this year’s Autumn Jubilee. I had a lot of fun looking at all of Art Gallery’s fabric lines, but Snow Day has to be my favourite. Now I’m off to find the perfect fabrics for this little quilt. Wonder if I’ll have it in my stash or if I’ll have to shop? My LQS just got another shipment of AGF! 😉
