Summer is here, and for some reason that makes me think of lemonade, which is funny because I rarely have lemonade. Perhaps it is the vibrant yellow color which speaks of sunshine and warmth, and lazy evenings in the rocking chairs on the veranda. Whatever the motivation, I have been collecting a few lemon items and it was finally time to do a table with them.
Remember the recent thrift store find of the basketweave white tablecloth? Here it is placed on the pub table, and it is the perfect size. Lemon yellow napkins with crystal clear rings are placed next to the yellow cutout chargers with white stoneware plates.
On top of the white plates are the lemon salad plates I’ve had for quite a while. You’ve seen them before, in previous summer tablescapes, like my al fresco Blue and Yellow Tablescape. I added the lemon bread plates which were a thrift store find some time ago and haven’t used in a table yet. Everyday flatware, drink glasses and individual salt/pepper sets are added.
For the centerpiece, my yellow ceramic basket is loaded with yellow silk flowers and greenery. On either side are my Mason Jar candles.
I use unscented candles to let the aromas of the food shine. The votives fit in the top of the jar, and underneath are yellow tulle and silk flowers.
It is a simple table for everyday use.
I can use the melamine lemon slice platter I recently found at the thrift store too.
Fresh and lemony, this summer table will be used everyday all through June.

This is one of my favorite tablescapes you’ve shown Carole. The color yellow just seems to brighten everything up and gives me such a feeling of joy, especially since our weather in the Chicago area has been so wet and gloomy for several months now. The lemon shaped plates are beautiful and they were a real find in whichever thrift store you found them.
What a beautiful table! Lemon Fresh is a favorite!
beautiful!
I always love your tablescapes and this one is no exception. Like how you use what you have in new ways. A nicely laid table is so welcoming!
Luv your table scapes posts…..Your Southern Charm shines thru……Dot in Pa…
Good morning, Love lemons, when I was working I would make frozen water with lemon in it to sip later in the day, always refreshing. Didn’t you use the lemon shaped dishes in a tablescape last year, seems like I remember them, Love em. Have a great 4th and stay safe. Phyllis
Lovely!!

How pretty Carole. I love lemons too – tho not much of a lemonade person either? They are just a pretty fruit. Your table is very summery.
Oh how beautiful! I love lemons… the taste, the smell, the colour… I must go and buy some now!
I just love that tablescape! And I share your love of melamine too! Love the idea with the candles and how it coordinates so beautifully! The variety of your blog posts keeps me inspired and eager to see what’s next. Also, making several sets of eyeglass cases & makeup cases to send for the Safelight project. Thanks for the opportunity to help!
