It has been a month of misfortune for some of my friends. After having two in physical therapy rehab early in the month, I found out recently that my Stampin Up demonstrator, Gail, had shoulder surgery. Another friend broke her leg requiring significant reconstructive surgery with hardware. Yet another friend had major kidney surgery. So, I headed to the workbench to stamp some cards. I wanted all of them to know that I was thinking of them.
Starting with a sunny yellow color cardstock, I embossed it with a tiny flower pattern.
This little pickup truck has a bunch of things you can put in its cargo bed. I used the flowers this time. I thought the sentiment was perfect.
Placing a pretty ribbon over the embossed card, I wrapped the ends to the backside.
Picking up the teal color from the ribbon, I used that as the frame color for the pickup truck.
One down!
I like that blue with the ribbon too, so I got another large piece for a birthday card for my MIL. Her birthday is this month too, actually today. Happy Birthday, Dear MIL!! She already has her card, so I can share it with you.
I glued the ribbon across the lower part and wrapped the cut ends to the backside, then mounted it on the card.
Because she is very special to us, I used this stamp and punched out a scallop.
The scallop was framed in purple on a larger scallop, and the front was done.
Inside, I am doing more combination stamping, this time with two sentiment stamps and a few butterflies.
Yes, all the cards today got my signature stamp.
I put a butterfly on her envelope too.
This month I was the lucky recipient of two beautiful cards from my friend Carol W., who is much better at this than I am. She sent this one after my oral surgery, lovely tri-fold card with a cut out jar of flowers! I have to have her show me how to do this.
It is Carol’s fault influence that convinced me to get the embosser. She sent this lovely Valentine card to me last week. I am hoping we can do some stamping together when Gail gets back to doing classes again.
While I had the stamps out, I did a couple of additional cards to send out. These are essentially the same, with the same ribbon, and some embossing. They have been sent out too.
So once again, I say I am going to do some cards to keep in reserve for quick needs, but I have not been able to do that. Maybe this week I can get out the stamps again and get a head start on the next round of cards. I want to do several, leaving the insides blank so I have one when I need one quickly. And it always seems I need one quickly, LOL!!
Have you done any stamping recently? Or, what are you working on now?

I really admire your artistic ability, and having been a recipient of a beautiful, thoughtful card, I know you bring beauty and joy to so many. Sending cards at the appropriate time is one of my major sins of omission! I need to try harder, even with purchased cards. Carolyn
These are great for sending a bit of cheer to someone
Thank you so much for my card. It is lovely. So happy to see you stamping. Stamping is great therapy, I plan on getting back to it in March. Would love to stamp with you anytime.
Theae are beautiful cards and so special since handmade-love that hope all of your friends are on the mend
Beautiful cards. Lucky friends. I have not done any stamping, but it looks like fun.
Your cards are so beautiful, and to get real mail when not so well is uplifting, and a permanent reminder of how friends care for each other.
Beautiful handmade cards will certainly bring a smile to anyone who receives one. Total #CreativeGoodness
Love these sweet cards. You do a lovely job. And you’ll inspire me to get to my stamps again someday.
After I had finished getting some education and a license to work, I discovered embossing…for a month and then I discovered rubber stamps. It was a fast, long fall down a rabbit hole with those. I was heavily immersed in stamping for years…then quilting happened… 🙂
I love your work, I keep thinking I should… but just what I don’t need, another hobby right now! You are so thoughtful, I just spent a boatload on nice cards (Papyrus publishing) for new babies here at work, so I am most appreciative of your beautiful work
still working on baby quilts! did a big fleece remnant with a crocheted edge the other night when I was under the weather and not up to the sewing machine, just to have in reserve! my daughter brought over a top from her stash too, so I may have the 6 coming in the next 3 months just about covered! I AM taking off a week for “mental health” holiday next week.. have a whole list of fun stuff to do, including my mammogram, oh well!

These are really lovely cards Carole – I am sure they cheered up all your friends.
Hi Carole,
I thought I would send you pictures of a couple of my most recent cards, one a Valentine’s card and the other a birthday card. The Valentine’s card is a three-fold card – very easy to make – simply fold one half of the card outward.
The small envelope next to the birthday card is to hold a gift voucher.
Both cards use some of the gorgeous papers and stamps (Valentine’s card) from the extensive range by Australian company Kaisercraft.
Today I have to make a birthday card for my granddaughter who will be 12 next week on Thursday.
Kind regards from Australia,
Trudi Bell
You are incredibly talented, Carole! I remember years ago I stamped all my Christmas cards one year, with the girls, and we had so much fun doing it. You’ve inspired me to stamp more!!
Great collection of cards, Carole!
Every time I see your beautiful cards, I’m tempted to rush out and buy some stamps and card making things. Then I remember all the sewing/quilting projects I don’t have time for. I need more hours in each day!
Love the cards! I think I need to invest in a few with sentiment verses to round out the birthday and Christmas stamps . I want to learn how to use my scan n cut for embossing next.
Very cute Carole. I especially love that pick up stamp! I own quite a few stampin up stamps. My niece use to sell it. Hope your friends are doing much better! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
What a thoughtful friend you are and what lucky friends you have! I know that they were cheered by your pretty handmade cards. I’ve made cards too, although it’s been a long time. I should get back to that! Thank you for sharing them!
