The last delivery of spa bags for Safelight is planned for October. This week, more things came in, so I took an inventory of what I have and what we still need. I have plenty of money, but I need a just a few more cards and case sets. If you’ve made some and are holding onto them, go ahead and ship. For newer readers, see this post – Safelight Project – for an overview of our community service project to benefit a local shelter for abused women (and sometimes men), now in its 7th year. This year so far, we have made 101 spa bags and delivered them to the shelter.
For the next delivery, I have 65 cards right now. Most are from Vicki in MN, some I’ve made. I have some of the project box elements yet to use, so I think I can make at least 6 more from those. Plus, I have cards on the way from Elana’s living center residents, so I might have all I need for the next delivery.
But cards are always welcome, and can be given to the shelter director to give to any resident needing a pickup. So if you have some ready to send, please send them.

This brings the total on those to 40. I just need 8 more to make the delivery. But extras can always be given to their boutique for sale, with the proceeds going to Safelight, so every one can be used.
The place where I order the bags for Safelight ran a sale last week so I ordered bags for the next delivery. I saved $10, which didn’t cover the shipping cost but every little bit helps. They arrived yesterday.
After the fair is over, I’ll order the bulk supplies from Dollar Tree and get 48 bags ready for delivery in early October. If you have cards or case sets in progress, send when you are ready, just be sure they arrive by September 27, 2024. Sorry your favorite card supply place is going out of business. I did like the cards from Paper Pumpkin/Stampin Up. I just never used them. Glad you have almost all you need and I am sure your request will get you a few more – probably more than you need.
