Summer Sunshine Tablescape and Hop

Summer is here, and it is a good time to celebrate the sun with a yellow theme tablescape. This time I kept the color palate very simple with just yellow and white, with just a bit of green in the centerpiece.

The chargers are one’s I painted some time ago when I wasn’t able to find butter yellow ones. Spring Chargers. White stoneware dinner plates are topped with pretty yellow and white salad plates called Chloe.

I got out the good silver plate flatware for this table. Yellow napkins are held with yellow flowerpot rings.

Crystal wine goblets and water glasses complete the settings. Of course, as usual, I have individual salt and pepper shakers for each guest.

The centerpiece is my yellow ceramic basket, filled with white and yellow silk flowers. On either side, a Mason Jar Candle has yellow tulle and silk flowers in the base.

Simple and elegant, this table is full of sunshine.

While we enjoy our lunch, we can also enjoy the sunshine outside. It is a bit muggy right now to eat on the veranda. So we had our meal in air conditioned comfort, while enjoying the view.

It has been quite a while since I participated in a blog hop. My blogger friend Rita at Panoply put this one together, and it came at just the right time. Twenty-three bloggers are showing Summer theme tablescapes today! Enjoy!!

  2. Carole, I am a fan of yellow! I love your yellow and white setting. How smart to paint chargers and they are perfect for your table. I am so glad you joined us again and it is a treat to hop with you!

  3. How fun and fresh the table looks. Have to tell you, I was in our local Dollar Tree over the weekend and they were featuring on a big display, yellow dishes. The collection was all lemons and green leaves and so many fun things to go along, and I instantly thought about you!

What fun! From fishing to camping to reading to good old fashioned patriotism, the tour had it all. But I must confess, I liked yours best.

  5. I’ve always loved yellow. It was .my Mother’s favorite color, though I’ve found it’s not a color many people can wear well without looking jaundice. It’s a happy color. Your setting is lovely. I like a nice table setting. People are so rushed anymore with through away stuff they miss the beauty of a pretty setting. I don’t use chargers, but love the look.

  6. Carole, what a charming and cheery table, sure to brighten any one’s day. How very clever to paint the chargers! I’m tucking that idea away for future settings. Another reason it’s such a great tip, is that you could do it inexpensively using dollar store chargers. The flower pot napkin rings are so cute! And, the yellow ceramic basket in the centerpiece is also versatile as a server for breads. With the sweet mason jar candles, your table will glow anytime of day.

Carole, yellow is such a joyful color, and it happens to be one I can and like to wear too. Those salad plates and napkin ring flower pots are just the right amount of happy. That yellow ceramic basket is really nice too. I always like the way you serve individual s/p for guests, a nice touch. I feel like I know your landscape from all the garden and critter updates you post, so perhaps a little time on the porch after the meal will be just enough to enjoy the view and sounds of nature. So glad you could participate this time. Happy summer!

  10. Yellow is so perfect for summer, your plates are so happy and I love that you painted the chargers! The centerpiece is lovely and the flower pot napkin rings are adorable. It will always be sunny at this table!
