Autumn Jubilee Wrap Up

What a month!  We did a lot of sewing and projects, ate some great food, planted bulbs, watched the wildlife, crafted, stamped and had a great time for Autumn Jubilee!  Please leave a comment today to thank all our sponsors for this event.  Most of the drawings have been held and winners notified.  Today is the final day to enter the last drawing from Friday.  And in response to requests, I’ve added a pdf of the final sashing and borders to Friday’s post.

We made a fun row quilt in our quilt along.

Used our embroidery stitches for a great strip pieced tote bag.

Set a pretty table for two.

Gave our embroidery machines a work out for a quick wall hanging.

Stitched a wool pillow.

Cooked with Cookish for a  throw together meal.

Planted some bulbs and divided the irises.

Stamped some autumn cards.

Made some pillowcases.

And most of all, had some fun for Autumn Jubilee!  I hope you will join me in thanking our fabulous sponsors by leaving a comment on this post.

What a fantastic overview today of all the autumn projects you presented….certainly everyone should also be thanking you for your gigantic effort!

  2. Thank you for organizing this Autumn Jubilee and doing all of the projects. I know it was a whole lot of work. Also thanks for the finishing PDF! I am finished with my quilt top except for the outer border. I am still auditioning fabric from my stash. Thanks again for everything.

Thank you again for a fun month of Autumn Jubilee fun! Working on finishing up the quilt top have the scrappy border in progress right now. Was able to do the bag/tote as well this time too. I enjoyed reading all the blog/post this month as well.

Incredible, how fast this past month flew by! All your projects were very educational and entertaining, Carole. Happy November!

  5. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the fabulous Autumn Jubilee this year!!! The beautiful projects, super photos and fun posts have made this month fly by. And having these posts to look forward to in these anxious times were a true gift. I have done three of the projects, but have plans to do more wool work and make pillow cases in the next month for us and for gifts. And I was able to patronize a couple of sponsors of the generous prizes. That was quite a variety of great prizes—something for everyone’s interest. Many thanks to all of them, too. You deserve a medal for all of the work invested in such a successful event. Bravo!

  8. Autumn Jubilee was just fantastic this year, Carole! You and the sponsors really outdid yourselves. I loved the projects, even though I only did he quilt, I was inspired by the others, and loved the variety that you included; it made for a wonderful, exciting October, which was especially appreciated here since we had hard winter weather for half of October. THANK YOU!!

    Good morning, Carole.

My iPad did an update overnight and I am back to once again, not being able to comment. I just wanted to be sure that you knew how much we all appreciate your month of autumn ideas and projects. Your posts always inspire me, especially the Autumn Jubilee ones. I have a quilt in the works and know it will be treasured for years.

This was my comment…. “It was a month filled with great projects, Carole. Thank you for sharing all of your lovely ideas with all of us, and a HUGE thank you to all he sponsors. I know that a lot of work went into each and every post. I hope everyone has at least one project finished or nearly finished from the month of ideas.“

    Thanks again. Happy November. Mary

P.S. I got The Sewing Machine from the library and stayed up late because I had such a hard time putting it down. Hope you enjoy the next Ladybug Farm books.

Fabulous month! Thank you, Sponsors, for ALL the wonderful giveaways and congratulations to ALL the winners! I’d especially like to thank YOU, Carole, for putting this event on annually. Super way to get our Fall on!

  13. Thank you for all your fun projects and posts for Autumn Jubilee, Carole! I’m still working on my row-along wall-hanging and yesterday I planted my bulbs! I haven’t made your pumpkin bread recipe yet, which has also become my fall tradition, but I’m still planning to. I really enjoy Autumn Jubilee!

  14. Sandy F

October’s Autumn Jubilee was fun, even though I haven’t sewn a stitch yet! That almost makes me feel guilty to be among the prize winners — such generous sponsors.

  15. Michele Bretz

Wonder what sewing machines you have and for what purpose do you use each? Why did you select that brand?

    1. Oh, mercy that is a big question! I have 10 machines, four are antiques for display only. I have two Brother machines, one older one that embroiders that is currently for sale, and one newer for most sewing. Then I have a Kenmore all metal parts workhorse machine, an A1 Longarm, a New Home serger, and a Janome Gem Gold lightweight for classes.

My guild used your Sudoku pattern for charity quilts. I’m so glad they did, it was a lot of fun putting together themed quilts & it introduced my to your blog. This is my first year following so I had no idea how much fun was in store for October. What a bright spot it was in a year that has brought special challenges to us all. I participated in most activities, shopped new-to-me sponsors, & was fortunate enough to have won one of the prizes! Another first for me. I have not used Dream Green before & look forward to trying it out for a Hopes & Dreams charity quilt in memory of someone who had ALS. Thanks to Carole and all your sponsors, I can’t believe how quickly October went by waiting for the next exciting project.

  17. Christine Y

Thank you to all the wonderful sponsers that donate to Carole for her Autumn Jubilee this year. Definitely some great prizes this year from some great companies this year.

  18. Autumn Jubilee 2020 has helped me get my sewing/quilting mojo back. I’ve kept up with the quilt & making progress on other projects. Thank you to you for all the work you’ve done creating the many projects. I love the variety of crafts that you share & enjoy reading about all the activities, even the ones I don’t do. Wonderful sponsors have shared some great prizes. Thanking the sponsors for sharing with us their goodies! It’s great to see old favorites & be introduced to new ones.

  19. Loris Mills

So fun to see the recap of all the wonderful inspiration. Thank you to your generous sponsors that really did hit it out of the park again this year. And thank you, Carole! This is such a fun way to celebrate Autumn!

  20. Joan Sheppard

We had such a great time! But you must be exhausted! Thanks you so much for all this. I had a great time looking through the patterns at One of the Flock. And Madam Sew has the best stuff. I bought a box of iron out pens and shared them at sewing circle. Never did a Sew Along, it kept me on track and I will have it done PINKIE PROMISE for Thanksgiving.
    Thanks again, j

Would someone point me to the scrappy tote bag pattern please? I have my fall fabrics scattered all over and would love to make the tote before I tidy up all those gorgeous fabrics.

  31. Wow, you’ve been so busy! Everything looks beautiful, I know it must have taken a lot of time to put this all together. I am a quilter in “wanting”….I have pieces cut out, but am thinking I might need to retire before I actually ever get a whole quilt done! Thank you for the inspiration, Lidy

  32. Sarah

Thanks Carole for another great Autumn Jubilee!. I agree with others who said it really made the month fly by. I know it is a lot of work to do the planning, lining up sponsors, doing posts etc. There is so much variety, there really is at least one project for everyone! I am working on my quilt now. I also especially enjoyed the felted acorns and the stamped cards.

I finally was able to get ground pork and the specialty Asian ingredients at my grocer so I could try the Black Bean Noodles with Pork and Mushrooms recipe. I substituted Monterey mushrooms because they were easily available. My husband and I both thought it was a very flavorful dish and we will definitely make it again. Thank you for all of the Autumn Jubilee activities and ideas.
