Chocolate Cherries Quilt Pattern

Here’s my latest new design incorporating chocolate triangles with pink cherry background, accented with creamy cordial, this pattern will eat up your cake layer leftovers, or clean out your scraps.  The design is primarily for a single color background, in this case pink, with scraps of a single tone (browns) and accents of a lighter scrappy beige or white.  The pattern testers did a great job, thanks to Gail and Sam for all their notes and feedback!!

Multiple charts will allow you to incorporate scraps and yardage together as you wish.  The pattern has multiple sizes from table topper up to king size, too!  The pattern is based on making half square triangles (HSTs) using the Moda Cake Mix #3 Papers. You can optionally make your own HSTs with additional charts to show what you would need.

It would look fantastic in any themed color variation like red, white and blue, or  perhaps purple, green and gold.  Or perhaps you like bold bright colors, do the background in white, the HSTs in brights, and the cordial in black.  Maybe you would like a screaming yellow background with scrappy blues (I’m looking at you, Deb!)  Your only limit is your imagination!

Purchasing my patterns helps support the costs of the blog, and allows me to bring you lots of free stuff, like our Teacups Quilt Along and the upcoming Autumn Jubilee which will have more free patterns and ideas.

Speaking of the teacups, I have an update for the Teacups Quilt Along, here is a pdf file for the first paper pieced block which began last Friday – Teacup Quilt Along Block 1. The quilt along is monthly, with new blocks on the first Friday of every month.

So, come see my new pattern!  Find my Chocolate Cherries Quilt Pattern on My Patterns page. Thank you for using my affiliate links when you can.

Good morning Carole…..Your chocolate cherries are yummy and the pattern is beautiful. Great job!

  3. First of all, I want to tell you how I enjoy your changing scenery. I especially love the red buds. I look forward to seeing it frequently. Secondly, thanks for all the inspiring patterns. I just need to get my last mystery together. And thirdly, chocolates and cherries… love the quilt. But I don’t see the cherry color??

What size is this quilt, please? It is very pretty and I can imagine it in a variety of colors, but I like the brown/pink combination.

Hello Carole; This is a beautiful quilt that you have designed and made. I do not think that your pictures do your fabric colors the justice they deserve though, Carole. I just do not see the pink at all. Yet, hopefully, that is just me…that just occurred to me. Because your pictures are always so magnificent! Enough of that, I do love this and with my LOVE of half square triangles, WHICH IS YOUR FAULT by the way…LOL…all of the Mysteries with them. Whooppiiee…bring the next one on! I am in a mood this morning, oh how fabulous, I have not felt like this in months and months!! I had best get to my sewing machine quickly and get to stitching…I just pray that this stays this way! Have a spectacular day!!!

I do love this (as well as the name, even though I’m not much of a cherry fan). Wish I didn’t have so many other projects underway.

Just purchased and downloaded the pattern. I am adding it to my ”To Do” List. I can see this being a popular quilt with my family. Thank you for sharing. D. Weeks

I do like it! I’m not a fan of pink (or screaming yellow – lol!) so I will have to figure out another color scheme.
