The last of the three quilts we worked on for the Ventura California quilt guild group was loaded on the longarm, with the other gorgeous wide backing from Backside Fabrics. This time I decided to use a golden polyester thread, the same one I used on the Japanese Art Quilt.

I used the panto Fascination again on this one, it went very well with the block design.

Luckily, the longarm behaved itself so the quilting went quickly and easily with nicely locked stitches.

See the beautiful backing print?  It is called Spiced Pomegranate, and a generous 108 inches wide.

We had some rare warm days while I was working on it.

It was beautiful outside, and I opened the windows behind the longarm.  Trying to get a photo that could see both the inside and outside proved to be next to impossible.

So here is the view, with the gentle breeze, warm and lightly overcast.

Back inside, I kept quilting until it was totally done.

It was trimmed and then it was ready for binding.

For the binding, I used the excess backing fabric, sewing it onto the front.

Then, it was turned to the back and machine stitched down.  This resulted in a line of stitching in the piecing on the front side which I have done before and it looked good.

So there it is, all ready to ship.

I wasn’t able to get any friends together for another sew day, everyone is just a bit too busy right now.  So, instead of having another flimsy done, I just shipped all the rest of the blocks along with the finished quilt to Ventura Quilt Guild for their quilters to use.  I am so grateful to those of you who sent contributions to help with shipping, the total for both shipments was over $80.
