Grey, overcast days are perfect for an old movie and some stamping fun. It is getting close to time to mail out some Christmas cards, so I thought I’d better get busy. I needed to make a special card for a very special lady who is getting a surprise Kohl’s gift card. She keeps DH on track at his job and works very hard for a lot of people all year.
I like to send those in cards with a holder glued down so the card won’t slip out. Start by lightly marking the edges of the gift card on cardstock. Cut out 1/2 inch larger. Using a decorative corner punch, punch the four corners. The gift card will slip into the holder and the holder can be glued into the card.
I used a tri-fold card with a cut out window. I stamped an ornament in the window, and added Merry Christmas to the top.
With the first foldover in place, I stamped this nice verse from Stampin’ Up.
On the front, I rolled some evergreen with lights, added ribbon to look like a package (and to cover up a boo-boo), and a punched out ornament that says Joy.
All done, just needed to stamp my ‘made by’ stamp on the back.
Now that I was in stamping mode, I made four more cards!
I stamped a cardinal, and added color to the picture with my chalk palette.
I put it on a dark green card, and added a glittery red ribbon.
I really have fun with my rollers. Using them with the straight edge guide keeps the lines straight.
Isn’t this cute? It is a candy roll. I did two cards with it, one with some space between the lines, and one with the lines next to each other.
On this one, I added ribbon and a Christmas tree stamped in green with a red mat.
On the other one, Snoopy is snoozing on his doghouse. I colored this one with chalks too.
The last one is a bit different for me. I had this snowflake stamp, but you can’t stamp white snowflakes on a white card, so I did them in pale blue. I was then obligated to finish it with more blue, my least favorite color. Then I added a gold snowflake ribbon, and the whimsical reindeer with blue mats. Even though I an not a fan of blue, this turned out OK. The little tag at the top was made with two tag punches and a tag stamp.
I got some crafting done today too. More about that later!
BEAUTIFUL!
How fun! Really creative and I love all the different techniques you’ve used. That snoopy card is so cute! Thanks for linking to le challenge 🙂
This is so much more advanced than my on stamping experiment! Thanks for sharing on Le challenge
