Are you stuffed full of turkey from yesterday? Now it is time to get really serious if you plan to do some handmade gifts this year. I have a lot of quick to sew/craft/make gift ideas on the blog, and I thought it would be a good time to remind you that these are here and the patterns are still free.

Do you have a quilter on your gift list? This Sewing Kit is easy to make, has no hand sewing, and can be used for jewelry too! The link has a full tutorial.

Sew a quick, four block table topper from my post last year. Tree Bell Table Topper.

Make a Christmas Nine Patch Star runner. Or do it in other colors for every day use.

And one more design for you, my original runner design from a Christmas Quilt Along in 2015. I reworked it into a single post with a pdf download for Christmas In July last year.

Giving Gifts From The Kitchen comes from the heart. This post has my Double Dutch Chocolate Brownie mix recipe with a downloadable pdf of the recipe, along with a few more, and printable gift tags. It also has a recipe for grilling herb and spice mix for the guys.

A wool penny rug is quick to finish, and this Christmas one is my original design. See the post for the free pdf pattern – Christmas Wool Applique.

Small Christmas stitchery projects can be made into ornaments with just a bit of sewing time. If you don’t have handwork to frame like this, use your embroidery machine to stitch out some Christmas motifs. See my post on Christmas Stitchery with Ideas for Finishing for more ways to make ornaments from your handwork or machine embroidery.

If you can do letters with your machine, words make wonderful ornaments too, like these Christmas Ornaments. Plus there are more ideas for crafty ornaments on that post, using cookie cutters and more.

One last idea, my Christmas Hexagonal Table Topper free pattern is on this post – Christmas Hexagonal Table Topper.

Are you shopping today? How is your holiday weekend going?
Great ideas! I usually do a few home crafted gifts for friends but this year I felt it was extra important to give something that said how extra special you are. Cross stitch Christmas cards, embroidered tea towels and small quilted pillows!
Wonderful ideas! And I love Windham Hill music. I have a couple of those cds in my collection. I officially started listening to my holiday music yesterday. Enjoy!
My Christmas shopping is complete! Just waiting for a few yet to be delivered! Still have some stitching to do though!!
Thanks so much for your Christmas ideas, sure to be something there to suit our needs. Your wonderful blog is much appreciated.
I have made several of the hexagon table mats and they are so easy and fun. Look great in any assortment of fabrics for any season. And quick, too!. I love to make gifts, but I can’t sew under pressure any more, so I don’t know how many I will get to. Looking forward to the scrap class after Christmas!
I have to read this a couple more times and highlight stuff. So much info. Jazz! Love it. And so many great gift ideas. We’ve been busy little elves all year and these look like the perfect touches like the spools of thread! So cute!
Thanks, j
Hi, Carole,
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Just wanted to make sure I’m signed up for the Dec 30 class. I think it will be so much fun.
Mary Ed
Thank you for collating links to all these patterns and ideas into one post. So helpful for a last minute maker like me!
Lots of Christmas inspiration here Carole! I am going to start decorating tomorrow Ali think, and hopefully a bit of time sewing!
Always good to be reminded of the great ideas out there!
