Summer time is the right time for a red, white and blue tablescape. This one was for our Memorial weekend cookout, and I’ll be breaking out some of the same things on the 4th of July. The Patriotic Table Runner is one I made a couple of years ago, click on the name for the tutorial.
Each setting starts with a round white placemat, topped with my red chargers and white French Country plates. of course the individual salt and pepper shakers go at each place.
I didn’t have six of the same thing, so I used two each of the three colors of napkins, alternating the colors and held by clear plastic napkin rings.
Once again, the mason jar candles were the perfect size, so they got red, white and blue flowers. Those little star sprays were a dollar store purchase several years ago and they are still good. I just store them away in plastic bins when not in use.
These bowls were part of a set I got at a silent auction last year. Those star plates will be used for the appetizer course and came from the dollar store.
Also part of the silent auction set was a big bowl, great for serving chips….
and this neat flag inspired tray that will hold the brats and hot dogs.
For the wine glasses, I tied little sprays of star garland to each stem in different colors so everyone would know which glass was theirs. Little pipe cleaners will go on the bottle neck of any beers to help keep those straight as well.
I made Ham Roll Ups, and Guacamole with Green Onions served with chips.
I have to brag a bit, my method for Perfect Deviled Eggs worked great, all perfectly peeled eggs…
which then got made into Deviled Eggs.
Everyone got a place card.
All set for fun!
How do you celebrate patriotic holidays?
Good Morning Carole. Your red white and blue theme is beautiful. I really love your table runner and I may have to make one.
I also wanted to say, The final result on the Scrap Dance Tango Mystery quilt is gorgeous!!!! I am going to a sewing group today that I have been going to for about 6 or 7 years and plan on working on it. I even brought my sewing machine home from Brendas yesterday so I can take it with me to finish my Scrap Dance Tango.
I have had so much fun making my first Mystery quilt and I can’t wait to do the next one that you offer.
Have a wonderful day.
Love your table set-up and all the little editions added to make your guests feel ‘special’ – I bet your friends love coming to eat at your house and your food always looks yummy nom nom 🙂 (hope your break is going well)
I too love your table set up. I use to enjoy decorating for the holidays when our girls were young…it was sooo much fun! I’ve recently passed my holiday totes on to my daughter and enjoy the simplicity of NOT decorating since it’s just the hubby and I (Oh and Jackson!) Although now that I have my seasonal wool banners done for the mantel, I am thinking about creating a seasonal table quilts for our diningroom….yah know the table that goes unused until company comes.
So very festive & pretty! Love Red, white & blue decor, as you can use it for Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July AND Labor Day!
What a great table setting for the Fourth of July!!
Your quilt runner is fantastic Carole! Great red white and blue table!
