I wanted to start today’s post with a lovely photo of my bleeding heart which has begun blooming. The delicate pink flowers are coming out in a plume of blooms.

I want to let everyone know that I will be taking some time off of blogging due to a health matter. I have an infection in my lower jaw and back tooth which is causing a great deal of pain. What started as a dull toothache last Tuesday escalated quickly. An emergency visit to my dentist revealed the infection. I’ve been on antibiotics and pain meds for a few days along with ice packs for the swelling and this will continue into next week. I’m getting by on soup, protein shakes and very soft foods, with a bit of ice cream here and there. I am scheduled to have the affected tooth extracted on Tuesday. I won’t be doing anything fun, or posting for a while, probably two weeks or so. I hope to be back sometime in April, and will see how it goes.

oh my, that sounds absolutely awful! best wishes for a speedy recovery and good pain meds.
pureed canned fruit (or the squeeze packages for toddlers) and packaged mashed potatoes (which can be made in small serving sizes) are also soft food winners. the protein “shakes” will become more palatable over time as you discover which one fits your taste.
have a good book on tape ready for your recovery. sometimes the meds and anesthesia make it difficult to read or even watch tv. story telling can be very comforting,
good vibes and hugs to you
I will be thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery. Take it easy and pamper yourself.

So sorry to hear how you’ve been suffering. Take care and enjoy the arrival of spring. We’ll be here when you’re ready to visit again.
I’m sure your dentist will advise you to NOT drink through a straw after the extraction … it can dislodge the ‘clot’ that forms where the tooth was. I had two extractions last fall (back tooth, top & bottom on the same side), and the bonus is … those teeth can’t hurt any more when they’re gone! Good luck, good pain killers, and it’ll all be good! Candy
I am so sorry, take care of yourself!
I hope that you fully heal and start to feel better soon. I’ll be thinking of you!
Oh, YUCK! Dental pain is so difficult to get through! Take care of yourself, Carole. We will all be here when you return. Keeping you and your husband in my prayers, Connie W.
