Fall Fortnight Kickoff!

Are you ready for some inspiring Fall Fortnight Fun? I have a bunch of autumn theme projects, free patterns and tutorials to show you over the next two weeks, with small projects being the theme. Lots of sewing coming up, with some great ideas for gifts. If you do not sew, you’ll still want to stick around because I have some items that will be available on sample sale on several posts, as well as a fabulous cookbook, and opportunities to win gift certificates. So don’t skip a post! Join us as we celebrate Fall Fortnight in my favorite season of the year. We’ll start today with some stamping projects, but first, let’s see our sponsors who have provided hundreds of dollars worth of great prizes you can win!!

Please thank these wonderful companies for their generous support of Fall Fortnight. First our premier sponsor, the amazing Benartex Fabrics has sent fabric for our projects as well as prizes for drawings. This is the Give Thanks line designed by Nicole DeCamp, available in some local quilt shops and on Amazon. I love the coloring of this line, with its soft orange and pretty turquoise green, with accents of darker green, brown, gold and cream. The Give Thanks Fat Quarter Stack has 17 fat quarters, and the 2-1/2-Inch Strip Pack contains 40 width-of-fabric strips. There is also a Layer Cake available. There will be several winners of fat quarters from this line, along with a 2-1/2-inch strip pack!

Next, Fat Quarter Shop is providing two $50 gift certificates for our prize drawings. Find more Benartex autumn design fabrics there including the Autumn Breeze collection by Nancy Halvorsen with its rich colors and fall prints. Fat Quarter Shop’s October specials include 20% off the Basic of the Month, 30% Off the Notions of the Month, 30% off featured Patterns of the Month. Then, check out Today’s Flash Sale and see the Precuts of the Week. Sign up for the Jolly Box Limited Edition Mystery Quilting Box for 2025!

Quilter’s Dream Batting has sent six different crib size battings for prizes, and we’ll be splitting these between three winners! Available at local quilt shops and on Amazon.

For our cooking post, Milk Street will ship a copy of their latest cookbook, Shorts, to one lucky winner. These are quick recipes with short lists of ingredients to get dinner on the table in a Short time. I’ve been cooking from it for a couple of weeks, and there are lots of great recipes here.

Then for our embroidery project, Sulky Threads has sent a gorgeous set of threads in shades of turning leaves and evergreens with 10 embroidery designs. The embroidery designs will be emailed to the winner, and come in every format needed for any brand machine. Check out the Vintage Vibes Mystery Box now available at Sulky.com. It will kick off your fall creative season with a touch of nostalgia! Sulky mystery boxes are always a fabulous value, with fun projects to stretch your skills and make fun projects. I already have mine, and put it unopened in the closet so I can wrap it for under the tree. On Christmas morning, it will be a surprise gift for myself! Click on Sulky to see all the specials!

Lastly, Electric Quilt is offering a discount over these two weeks on all of their products, including the software, books, block encyclopedia and add-ons for fabric and more blocks. The 20% off discount code is 20FORTNIGHT and will run from 10/19/2025 through 11/2/2025.

Thank you for using my links to our wonderful sponsors.

We need some kickoff inspiration, so let me show you some Autumn cards I’ve been making. Wouldn’t it be fun to get one of these in the mail? For the left one, I put silk leaves on a print background and added the sentiment at the bottom. On the right, I love these skeleton leaves, and placed one over an embossed fall design, with the sentiment below, accented with stick on rhinestones.

These two cards have basically the same design, with long vertical strips on the left, and a horizontal focus on the bottom third. I used stamps and stickers on these.

More stickers decorate these cards. Adding a bit of cording tied in a bow gives the card even more visual interest.

I also stamp the envelopes. On the front in the lower left corner is a fall leaf and berry motif. On the back, I added Autumn Blessings to the flap.

The other set has pumpkins on the front, and Thankful Thoughts on the flap. All of these cards and more will be at my booth for the Fall Fiber Fair at Beginnnings Quilt Shop on October 25.

Are you inspired for some fall projects? Clear the calendar, plan your sewing time, and we’ll continue on Tuesday with the first free sewing pattern and project.

Are you ready for Fall Fortnight? Are you excited to have a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes?

Cue the music, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” for those of us in love, love, love with Autumn! Terrific prizes, I think you’ve covered all my favorite products, especially Quilter’s Dream batting & Sulky threads. The Pumpkin quilt from your pattern is adorning my love seat for the season. so excited but my sew time is limited.

this week my focus is ironing and packaging pillowcases for Ryan’s Case for Smiles.

Our nation wide Miles of Pillowcase Smiles goal of 40,000 cases made in September was met and surpassed.

Carole-I have been looking forward to Fall Fortnight. You always have such great ideas! And smaller projects have a lot of appeal for me right now as I seem to have stalled out on some of my bigger ones.

What wonderful prizes! And so many of them. Thanks so much to all of the generous sponsors!

Thanks to all the generous sponsors. I always find these posts inspiring and fun to read. I am looking forward to the posts. Don’t know how much I will actually be able to do since I am caring for my sister who is dealing with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and dealing with my own health problems.

Your cards are clever and beautiful.

I went to the Sulky website and I see they have 12 weight thread for machine embroidery. This has me curious on how to use it and when to use it for maximum impact. I noticed that Sulky has an education tab and I will investigate that when I have more time.

Looking forward to more Fall Fortnight!

What a great way to welcome Autumn! Thank you, Carole, for offering so much again this year. I appreciate all your hard work to make it happen again. I updated my blog header with the project from Autumn Jubilee 2021. It is hanging proudly again this year. I love it!
