Safelight Project 2019 Update

Going to the mailbox last week was such fun, with new surprises several times.  We are making progress towards the goals, and I plan to order the bags this week.  The first package to arrive had three pretty case sets from Melanie Tehan.

The incredible Becky Harbour sent five case sets plus a generous monetary donation.

Heidi of My Little Stamping Blog sent six beautifully layered cards.

She put a personal note in each one, and every one was different.

Danice Gentle sent three lovely cards with nice notes inside and fun stickers on her envelopes that looked like stamps.

Donna Taylor sent the nicest letter, along with two sparkly case sets that I am sure will be much appreciated, and some money for the bags, too.

Susan Barr sent twenty cards along with a very generous monetary donation.  The cards are beautifully stamped with wonderful, handwritten messages in each one.  Each one was different, some had quotes from famous people, some had heartfelt wishes, all wonderful.

Next, a package from Sharon Church had two lovely sets for the bags.

Then, I opened up the next big envelope and was blown away by Lenora Scott’s cards!

She sent over 40 cards, with donation, too. A few of the cards were appropriate for a guy, much appreciated!

Inside were lots of different messages, more than I can show you, a huge variety of inspirational messages.

Carole Leverton sent six case sets, beautifully sewn with a nice donation.

More monetary donations came in on Paypal and in the mail.  We are about 3/4 of the way to the goal, and just need a few more readers to help us out.  Click on Donate to Safelight to donate as a guest with a credit/debit card (you don’t have to have a Paypal account to use the guest function) or by using your Paypal account if you do have one.  Just fill in the amount you’d like, $5 will fund 1/2 of one bag, $10 will do one bag.  If you’d like to mail a check, please make it out to me and not the project.  Remember, you get an entry in the drawings for every $5 donation, every card sent, and every case sewn.  See the post Safelight Project 2019 for details on the bags and the great prizes up for winning!!

I can use your help in any way you can.  Thank you!!

  3. Wow! I just love the case sets! And what a great variety of cards, too! I hope to get some cases done here soon. Have to move the card stuff to get to the sewing machine! You know how it is…

What fun to see all the cards and case sets arriving for Safelight 2019. So nice of you to head up the project and gather the goodies to be delivered. They will surely bring a little joy to each recipient.

    Hi Carole,

Here I am again with another late response to one of your messages. My internet was out of service from the 5th of July till the 21st of July . I tried 2 times to talk to reps. To get it back on but to no avail, finally my son came over and he had quite a few problems but they finally got me back on. I’m on a terminal that is located at the entrance of my subdivision and so many different companies use it and I got knocked off my peg and it took awhile to get back on. Anyhow….I’m planning on making the eye glass cases for you to use in the gift bags ubt I want to wait till I have enough to fill the bags. I mentioned I was going to use mens ties but there are a lot of patterns that are suitable for women so there will be ba mixture of both when they are all made. About how many bags would dyou be filling since I have not done anything like this before but I have all these ties I used for my Santas and want to put them to a great use so let me know. I got your address off another e-mail you had and I have plenty of boxes. I’d be so happy to help others as I had a couple of blessings this [ast week myself, God is so good.
