Orphan Block Quilt and Hands2Help

I am delighted to be a guest blogger on Sarah’s blog, Confessions of a Fabric Addict today!  I am going to be showing how I did an orphan block quilt, beginning with this block.  Remember, it was the first block of the Be My Neighbor quilt, then I decided to do it in springtime colors instead of my comfort zone traditional colors.

So Hop over to Sarah’s blog, Confessions of a Fabric Addict , to see how I constructed the quilt flimsy with this orphan block, read about Hands2Help, join the linky parties, or send a quilt, and you might win a wonderful prize from one of her sponsors.

Then, come back tomorrow to see the rest of the story, the quilting of that orphan block quilt.

  2. I haven’t been to Sarah’s blog yet this morning so it was a nice surprise to see this post! I have three H2H tops done…I didn’t set out to make that many, my scraps just kept multiplying!!

Sunny and 67° here but rain due later. I’m hand sewing the binding on my H2H quilt. I’d planned to do 2, but a baby quilt and retirement present jumped in line, so it will probably be just one this year.
Happy Easter. Thanks for being a guest blogger with Sarah.

Hello Carole and Happy Easter to you and your Husband! Your tutorial for using up one large Block for the center of a quilt and letting your imagination go from there is excellent! I do not have to many stray blocks, but I do have quite a few UFO’s. I am slowly but surely working my way through them. I actually posted on my blog on Friday …..yeah….it was quite nice. Carole, be honest though, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WOULD LOVE TO STOP BY AND COMMENT, do I write to much? We all know I like to jabber! Any advise will be greatly appreciated! I could not get my computer to load the pictures to Flickr so when I have the chance later today, I will. I am off to finish my QST’s and hopefully start the HST’s. Have a great day!
