Since I lost so much sewing time last weekend, I had to get busy this week to finish the projects to take to the Fiber Fair tomorrow. Some things I just pulled from the finished projects pile, like this bell pull from Fall Fortnight…

this wall hanging from last year’s Autumn Jubilee…

and the jar wrappers.

I reported on these table toppers and runners on the Stashbusters post, as I finished them during retreat last week. They started out as a long piece of striped border print fabric.

Assembled into five toppers of various sizes, I put them all on the longarm at once.

I stitch the edges down, so I can continue the quilting pass without stopping.

The binding was made and applied by machine at retreat. Five all done.

Next, I cut the panel into placemats, and laid them out with the remaining prints to figure out a design.

After a bit of trial and piddle, I decided to put the cork print on the top and bottom, then add the wine glasses to the sides. This made a generous size of 14×19 inches. Once again, I loaded all of them and used the same grapevine pantograph on them.

I found the perfect binding fabric in my stash, a deep brown with black print. It took more than a day to bind all six by machine.

All done, and ready for sale. In this photo, the top right one is upside down.

The scenes are really pretty, with a glowing sun in each one.

I made napkins to go with them. I just did a rolled edge on my serger on the edges of this print cut into 12-inch squares.

And all while I was sewing madly on these projects, my embroidery machine was busy behind me stitching motif and funny sayings on kitchen towels. I got 8 done. I intended to do 12, but ran out of time.

I’ll be looking to pull a few more things to make the booth space full and inviting. I think this one can go, too.

So, we’ll be up bright and early on Saturday, and ready for business by 10 am. Local sewists and quilters should come by as Beginnings will have some specials in the shop. I’ve also got some books, threads and notions that I’ll be taking to sell as well.
What are you sewing this week?

Tee hee hee, the upside placemat is what happens after you finish all the wine.
I love all of these, Carole, and I’m so excited that I’m ordering some from this collection!
You had a productive week! I hope the fair goes well tomorrow.
Everything you have looks wonderful! Good luck on your sales tomorrow. I haven’t seen it quilted a thing in over a month. I contracted Covid at our big festival and hubby got it from me. I’ve been down with it 22 days and it still has a grip on me although I tested negative. My hubby has had it 9 days. This is the worst I’ve felt since before 2016 cold/flu. I pray no one gets this and it doesn’t seem to matter if you were Vaxd. Enjoy your show.
These fabric prints are so colorful and pretty.
Looks like you have a lot of fun items to sell! I love the wine placemats. Hope you make lots of money for your group!
Carole,
Hope all of your hard work pays off. Every project you completed looks great.
Monthly gathering of my Featherweight Group on Monday. I finished a 40×58 topper for the hospital then started a 2nd, but realized I hadn’t cut enough for corner blocks so I called it a day. In the evening, I’m hand embroidering a set of 2 cotton dish towels for a gift.
Carole, beautiful projects and best wishes for the fair!
All wonderful projects. You are amazing to have made all those.
Looks like you are ready to roll. Hope the event is a big success.

What a fabulous job! I did a fair this weekend, and sold what I had. Was surprised by “cheers” bottle carriers didn’t sell. Anyway, it was a benefit for the church and I was glad for each of the pieces that went to new homes! Good luck with yours!
