Sample Sale

From time to time, I have to decrease the amount of quilted and crafted items in the house or I would be covered up in them. So, time for a sample sale, to move some things into other hands. I have some cards left as well that were not appropriate for Safelight but still fun, so those are up for sale, too. This is a great time to pick up a gift for someone, or treat yourself. Particularly for my readers who do not quilt, you can have a handmade, unique item for your decor or to give to a friend or family member. Keep scrolling, this is a long and picture heavy post!

Prices reflect the time and materials used, and do not include shipping unless stated. Some items will ship in flat rate boxes as the least expensive way due to weight. Others will be calculated based on zip code, and I’ll give you the lowest rate I can find between USPS calculated and flat rate, or UPS. So, on with a virtual quilt and craft show! First up, The Lady’s Garden, a throw size quilt I made recently.

The Lady’s Garden is a lovely stroll through floral garden prints with a grassy path, measuring 54 x 72 inches. The Villa Rosa Design is sewn in high quality 100% cotton fabrics, 80% cotton 20% polyester batting, with a hand finished binding. Backing is a tone on tone off white, small label.- $125 plus shipping.

Hungry Animal Alphabet small throw size quilt or wall hanging. Yes, another one of these panels I cannot get enough of, LOL! I was surprised it did not sell at the recent show, but I think it was not displayed well, hanging on a rack in a corner, and people didn’t see it. Alphabet panel on front with Bunnies by the Bay backing. Adorable on both sides. Size is 28-1/2 x 35 inches. Quilted in white polyester Glide thread in a cloud design, 100% cotton batting, hand finished binding. Machine wash warm, dry on medium heat, press if desired on wool setting (less hot than cotton setting). $45 plus shipping. – Sold

Quilted casserole carrier in fun sewing and quilting motif with a black background (hides stains), great for taking dishes to a pot luck sew day, or other gathering. Crossed handles, tie closure. Cotton batting, hand finished binding. $15 plus shipping. – Sold

Christmas Tree and Bell Table Topper – An in-the-round arrangement for your holiday table pieced with Christmas prints, bright green backing, quilted in green with a snowflake design, cotton batting – 26 x 26 – $20 plus shipping. – Sold

Yellow Quadrille Table Topper measures 27-1/2 inches square, sewn in cute bee and daisy prints. Quilted with a swirly pantograph design. Hand finished binding. Backing is a purple floral print with white daisies. $30 plus shipping. – Sold

Hot Handle Pads – made to place on a skillet handle when using in an oven so you don’t grab a hot handle after you’ve taken it out of the oven. Double layer of insulbrite with cotton batting and high quality cotton fabrics. Choose from onion print, black spoons or beige spoons. There are five four onion prints, four three beige spoon prints and three one black spoons available. $5 each plus shipping.

I decided to sell the Paris Quilt, thinking that someone might want it in commemoration of the Paris Olympics this year. Lastly, I have decided to sell the quilt that was the cover story for Quilts and More magazine Fall 2022. The magazine called it Autumn Elegance, but I called it Vineyard. The quilt has never been used, only stored since I received it back from the magazine shoot. I just don’t need it for the trunk show, so I’m offering it for sale.

Yellow sunshine peers through golden vines and burgundy grapes, surrounded by green leaf chains. Quilted in a grapes and leaves vine design. Size is 68 x 79 inches. The fabrics are polished cotton, giving the quilt a luxury feel and sheen. Backing is the dark green fabric. Hand finished binding in matching green. $500, free shipping, on this item check only.

Please leave a comment (or reply to the email) if you’d like to purchase any of these items. Include your zip code so I can calculate shipping costs. I will accept a check via mail, or you can pay with paypal (unless stated check only). I’ll answer all inquiries via email. As things sell, I’ll come to this post and mark them as sold. Thanks for looking!

What a lovely reminder of all the quilts. I have used your patterns to make many of them and can remember the looks on the faces when people opened the boxes. Thank you for sharing your gifts of artistry and time.

  3. Hi Carole! Lovely, all. I would like two spoon pot handle-holders (one of each – b/w – if you have them). Also, the blue and yellow table runner/small quilt. My zip is 48912. Let me know and I’ll get a check off to you! (And I need to figure out which address to have it sent to, as my mail will be held, but not sure when!)

Carole-I would love to have three beige and one onion hot pot handle covers if they are still available. My zip is 77006. Thank you!

USPS Ground Advantage is less expensive than flat rate and has $100 insurance and tracking. It takes one day longer than flat rate for delivery. You can use a larger box than the large priority flat rate box and pay less for shipping.

I went to the Villa Rosa website to find the Lady’s Garden pattern and it didn’t exist. I could probably figure it out, but would really like the dimensions of the pieces!!
