Tables for two have become the norm here this year, so for Autumn Jubilee (#AutumnJubilee2020), I have a festive fall tablescape for 2. Without being able to have friends over, it is more important than ever that the table be a welcoming and seasonal place for a meal. I try every year to use what I already have in new combinations, and I don’t think I’ve done this one before. It begins with the placemats. I made these before I began blogging. I used a couple of yards of a lovely gold leaf printed on a plaid base, and quilted the piece as a whole cloth. Then I cut it up into placemats and bound them.
The table is set with just two places, and some of my all time favorite dishes. The stack base is a brown charger, topped with burnt orange, ruffle edge dinner plates, and my Autumn leaves salad plates.
Gold napkins are held with brown beaded gold wire napkin rings. This is a table for every day of autumn, so everyday flatware is added.
I love these pumpkin bowls, and serve soup in them.
A basket with a leaf design handle anchors the centerpiece, offset to one side to take up the space of two place settings.
I surrounded the base with artificial leaf garland, and my crackle glass candle holders.
Inside, Dollar Tree pumpkins along with leaves and mums complete the arrangement.
On the side facing the den, dried corn gives some interest to the back side.
Glass mugs and individual salt and pepper shakers complete the settings. A bit of extra space in the center has a pumpkin plate.
We’ve enjoyed this tablescape all month. The gold and brown with rust accents are very traditional, and it pleases me this time of year.
Halloween isn’t going to be a part of our October this year, we never get trick or treaters anyway, and all our gatherings have canceled. But if you have plans for Boo-day, here’s a spooky tablescape for you – Halloween Tablescape with Lights.

While I have always loved a beautifully set table, it’s just the two of us these days and simplicity suits my energy level best. Your autumn table is beautiful. I am having an aha moment when I read how you approached making your placemats. A great approach, and one I hope to use for Christmas. I don’t have any lovely dishes for autumn or any special day, but I admire all those I see, Our house is quite small, and it would be space for me to sew, or storage for beautiful decor. You can imagine what I choose. although there are no covid cases in our area at present, we are keeping to ourselves as well. Better to stay safe. There continues to be so much death and suffering . My heart cries for these losses. Stay safe, and enjoy your day

We are having a safely social Halloween in our neighborhood, so I’ve been working on a costume for my son, of course this year the leaves are actually turning before Halloween and it’s been a gorgeous Autumn. I’m thankful for all the Autumn colors around us!
So great to figure out a way to do this safely, so the fun can be there for the kids.

Having our Florida friends back in our mountains for three weeks in their cottage down the road, I’ll have to kick it up a notch for our occasional ‘safe’ meals together and your tablescapes are always inspirational!! Mine is set for six today. I have an autumn jubilee table runner (pumpkins and leaves 6″ squares) and my coordinating leaves placemats. I have a collection of vintage candles shaped in pumpkin, jack-o-lantern, and cornucopia on the runner in the middle. My granddaughter added 2 gourds from her garden last week. What a gorgeous tablescape…but I’ve not seen one of yours that isn’t! Mr. C must think he’s the luckiest man alive! (Those little bowls are so sweet!) What I love about your tablescapes is EVERYTHING! We love pumpkin soup and butternut squash soup. Very rich and sweet. Was looking at the placemat – is that a linen? I’m having fun with the sew along and finishing up Christmas gifts so I can get them in the mail by Turkey Day. Yeah – it is sneaking up on me. One done and 5 more to go. The pumpkin bowls are just too cute. I don’t really do Halloween but my grands will come by for a treat and this year it will be homemade cracker jacks. They only go around to family for safety …but there is a lot of family for them to load up on treats.

Your table is beautiful! Love the bowls. The only decorating in my home is a topper on the table with my ceramic pumpkins, and maybe a autumn themed quilt on the couch. We don’t have the same kind of seasons as the eastern states do.

I made a couple of table toppers this fall–one Autumn (Maple leaves) that I have on the table right now along with a vase of the last garden flowers (Mostly assorted zinnias). The second one is a Halloween hexagon table topper that I will use next.

Using all of those wonderful colors of Fall just make you want to have a hot and delicious bowl of soup along with a good helping of a favorite main dish and my go to butternut squash. Beautiful table Carole! Your bowls make me think of making squash soup for lunch this week! Church was cancelled this morning, so I have been been finishing some little bits and working on the Autumn Jubilee rows. My pumpkin strips are done, and I’m ready to start sewing on the leaf row. I am always amazed at your table decorations. My DIL has decorations for every season and holiday and I love to see what she has on display monthly. Me, not so much. I have fall decorations but other than a table runner I haven’t gotten them out. We’ve had lots of non Covid related things happening and they just haven’t been on my to do list. I am in the process of making a crazy quilt table runner right now. I have several different harvest fabrics and some solids in there. I love decorating my tables for the holiday seasons.
Your table settings are beautiful and inspiring! I just love fall table runners and toppers and have several that I use. My current favorite features pumpkins! I also have some with leaves and turkeys. It seems that Christmas decorations come out earlier every year but I would rather enjoy the fall things for a while.

Love your tablescape. They are always so pretty. You have inspired me to create a tablescape for just the two of us this evening. We never eat at my solid oak dining table except when company is coming with this year is non-existent. I put a roast in the crockpot this morning with carrots, onions, and potatoes around it, so it is a suitable meal for the dining area. It will surprise hubby as usually we eat at the counter or in our favorite chairs in the living room watching Gunsmoke. I’ll have to take a picture to post after the meal this evening. What a great way to make the table mats! What kind of batting do you use for that? We have little room for extra holiday decorations, I’m feeling good with using our everyday white with blue placemats that we eat off of almost all the time. Guess that would be too boring for you. We do use our red Christmas dishes that my mom got us for the month of December, so that is a different tablescape for us. Thanks for sharing.
I use cotton batting for placemats. No pretty table is boring, even if it is there everyday. Plus, I promise you, I am not judgemental. What works for you is best.
