Apple Tablescape

Apple Festival weekend starts today, a four-day, annual, Labor Day weekend event, done like only a small town can do it.  It is the end of summer, and almost time for my favorite season, autumn, but not quite yet.  So, an apple tablescape is in order once again.  I put this one together using only items I already had, combining them in a new way.  You can see previous Apple Festival tablescapes from 2016, 2017, and 2018 by clicking on the years.  Some items come out each year, others change so no two are exactly alike.  This time, I began with a cream tablecloth, my apple runner and red chargers.  I dug out the wooden apples, my apple salad plates, and a few additional items to play with.

Red napkins are held with apple motif napkin rings.

The plate stack has white china plates topped with apple motif salad plates.

I have some apple motif ramekins that match the napkin rings, so I got those out too.  Perhaps this year an apple creme brulee?

For the centerpiece, I have a low black iron display piece, and I found red candle holders for it at another thrift store.  They hold unscented candles.  Originally, I was thinking of this piece for a Christmas table, but the red fits right in with the apples, too.  I filled the center with an apple candle ring and set some wood apples on top.

On each end, I placed more apples, including a half apple on each side that are salt and pepper shakers.  I only use them for centerpieces.

Here’s a closer view of the centerpiece, you can see the tiny apples on the bottom that are part of the candle ring base.

Finishing the place settings, I used our silverplate flatware, and added wine glasses.  The apple salad plates have four different scenes, some have little birds.

Others have just apples.

There are two different motifs with just apples.

At the other end of the table, one more with a bird.

Of course, I added individual salt and peppers to each setting.  I only have four of any one wine glass pattern, so this time I selected pink depression glass stems for the ends of the table.

So, there it is, all done and ready to enjoy as decor or to host a fun meal.  Apple Festival time is here!

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?
