The quilt today has a dual purpose. First, I am happy to be a part of Cheryl Brickey and Paige Alexander’s book launch for their new publication Modern Plus Sign Quilts. This new book has sixteen patterns for all kinds of projects, all using the plus sign as part of the design. I picked the Pinwheel Plus design to make in a small size. I liked the way it blended traditional blocks into a more modern design.
The size in the book is larger, but I made a smaller version for a special project. I decided to use a floral print for the plus signs, a pretty green for the pinwheels, and a white background.
You can get a copy of this new book using my Amazon affiliate link – Modern Plus Sign Quilts.
I thought the floral plus signs and this cute little bunny was sweet for spring on the guest bed. I quilted it with a swirly pantograph to had more movement to the design, like the pinwheels are spinning in the wind.
I plan to send this quilt to Little Lambs in conjunction with Sarah’s Hands2Help charity quilt drive.

A fresh take using that pretty floral fabric for your version! You’ve given this design a softer, more feminine take that is so lovely! Wonderfully done!
It is a very Spring-like quilt indeed!
I’ve followed the blog posts and Instagram shots about the plus sign book. While I think the quilts are all lovely, I am not drawn to making most of them.
The only one that inspries me to plan a quilt is yours, with the alternate block pattern. It feels lighter and more relaxed…
