Are you ready to Square Dance?!!

The next Scrap Dance Mystery Quilt Along is coming!  We will be Square Dancing this year!  Save the third Friday of each month for the steps.  This is going to be a bit different, and I’ll give you one hint now – there will not be any half-square triangles, LOL!!! Nope, not one. I have done enough of those for a time, and this time we’ll learn something new. Bwaaahaahaa!!  Are you ready?

Square Dance! at FromMyCarolinaHome.com

Save the third Friday of the month for the steps, beginning January 19th.  The quilt along is once again going to use up your leftovers, with the design done to take advantage of some precuts, but you’ll also need some fat quarters or yardage.  I actually have some alternative cutting strategies too, to use more sizes of things, so if you have charm squares, jelly roll strips and cake layers, set them aside and we’ll use them up.  The steps will be simple, and easy to work in around other projects.  In fact, some may even work for leader ender project.  Those doing the monthly goal thing can use the monthly steps for that too, and get two things going at once!  The quilt along will go until July with finishes after that.  You can share your fabric choices, progress, and finishes on our Flickr Group, or on the From My Carolina Home Project Sharing Facebook group.  I love seeing what you all are doing!!

I will link this post only with a few link parties and BOM pages to get the word out.  I will not link the individual steps, so I hope you’ll follow my blog to quilt along.  January 19th – updated click on –  Square Dance Begins!

Won’t you come with me for fun this year at From My Carolina Home? My blog has quilting and sewing, free patterns and quilt alongs, tips and tutorials, travel and mountain living, crafting and stamping, cooking and gardening, tablescapes and decorating, reading and more. You can follow by email by using the sidebar sign up, or Bloglovin using the sidebar link. If you are a Facebook user, follow From My Carolina Home Facebook page. I like interacting with readers too, and you can put your pictures on our Flickr Group for the quilt alongs and projects, and on my new From My Carolina Home Project Sharing Facebook group too. This new group is for anything and everything inspired by my posts, sharing of projects and quilt alongs, sew alongs and stitch alongs, your tablescapes and gardens, and any project inspired by my blog.

Oh, thank goodness, no HSTs. I need a break from them. Hope to follow along, but I’ll be away for two months with no access to a machine most of the time. Glad it will go until July, so I have a hope of catching up.

Good Morning Carole: Heck Yeah, I am all ready for another Scrap Dance Mystery with you and all of the other great participants! Deanna is here right now, saying hello and excited to start the SDM also! No, HST wow! Because of your Mysteries, I learned how to make them and actually fell in love with them and all they can add to a quilt. It is going to be a big change without them, but most likely a pleasant one. LOL. Deanna said…GOOD…I have a love/hate relationship with them due to your SDM and Brenda having me help me the two quilts she made for her Dad. Which we have been trying to put the first one on the Quilting Frame since last night. LOL. I definitely found out that I did not follow your BORDER TUTORIAL correctly. The side borders are still off just enough that it does cause a lot of problems. But, I am not ripping them off and starting over….LOL! Would you mind if Deanna and I posted pictures of our fun and excitement at being able to put this Scrap Dance quilt on the frame and share with everyone? Well Deanna has to leave early today, so we have a few Xmas blocks to finish Quilting. Have a fantastic day!

I’d love to participate but will wait and see your fabric requirements. Sure i have scraps and precuts but nothing EVER matches! grrrr I may only be following along in reading….thanks for the heads up. 🙂

  9. Oh gosh, I’d love to learn how to quilt, but I do not know where to get the time. It will have to remain on my wishlist for a little longer I’m afraid. I wish you a wonderful quilt-along, thank you for sharing all your knowledge about quilting with us! I know where I will be getting my information from once I get to learning how to quilt 🙂 May 2018 be a year filled with joy, peace, and love for you and your loved ones. Big hugs xx

I hope so! I don’t know with all that’s going on, but once again, I’m going to try. I certainly have plenty of scraps!

  12. Oh, no HSTs?! Now I’m seriously tempted! I will check it out on the 19th and if I don’t sew along, I’ll at least read along! I’m getting myself all tangled up in too many QALs, I’m afraid, but they are all so much fun!
