Friendship Cards

Recently I had a bit of a hard time, and I wanted to tell a couple of people how much I appreciated their support and friendship.  You know, one can never have too many true friends, but I am not talking about the social media kind.   Real friends are there for you when you really need a word of support, listen to your rants on the phone, and give you a hug when you need one.

I found these little books at the bookstore with friendship quotations and poems, perfect for a special little gift.   Pulling out my cardstock, I had the perfect colors to go with the covers.

I am still rationing my handmade papers, so I tore some strips with my deckle edge tearing strip.

I stamped the word Friendship on cream card stock for the bottom to go on top of the strips of handmade paper.

I stamped some little green motifs on one card on the side and at the lower right.

I love these scalloped punches that allow me to stack them for a pretty border. One got a butterfly in a scalloped layer.

One got a butterfly motif on the upper right.

Inside is a heartfelt sentiment for my quilting friends.

Finished, and ready to give away.

Two were small enough to fit in my oversize envelopes with the cards. The third one needed a different envelope.

I like the way these turned out. They are perfect to let my special friends know what they mean to me.  Each one has a personal message inside.  I matched each book to the friend it reminded me of the most.  The sentiments inside had to be the right ones for each special lady.

Of course, since I gave them all away, now I need to do more stamping!

Aren’t real friends the best thing?!!
